Greece: DEI maintains stable electricity prices for August

The Public Power Corporation (DEI) announced it will keep household electricity prices steady for August, absorbing a significant increase in wholesale market costs. The company's green variable tariff will remain at 0.138 euros per kilowatt-hour, a move DEI states is part of its strategy to support consumers and businesses facing volatile international energy prices.

This decision comes despite a more than 18% rise in the wholesale electricity market in July, which reached 109.95 euros per megawatt-hour. DEI's commitment to stable pricing aims to provide a buffer against these external fluctuations.

For consumers with dual-zone meters, charges in low-consumption hours for the green tariff will also remain stable at 0.123 euros per kilowatt-hour. The company also detailed pricing for its fixed blue tariffs, including programs like DEI myHomeEnter and myHomeOnline, and options for higher consumption households with the myHome Maxima program.

DEI is also offering a myHome Plan with a fixed monthly charge for greater cost predictability and dynamic pricing options for those with smart meters. The yellow variable tariff, myHome4all, will be priced at 0.154 euros per kilowatt-hour for August, which DEI notes is competitive compared to its 2026 average of 0.136 euros per kilowatt-hour.
