Group urges Tinubu to remove revenue service chair from campaign council

A Nigerian public policy think tank has called on President Bola Tinubu to withdraw Zack Adedeji, the Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service, from the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council. The Neo Africana Centre (NAC) stated its opposition to Adedeji's reported appointment as Deputy Director of Fundraising for the President's campaign.

The think tank expressed concern that Adedeji's involvement in the campaign's fundraising efforts could create conflicts of interest or undermine public trust in the revenue service. The group argues that such a position could compromise the integrity of his role as head of the Nigeria Revenue Service.

By asking for Adedeji's removal, the NAC aims to uphold principles of good governance and ensure that public institutions remain insulated from partisan political activities. The call highlights ongoing scrutiny of appointments and potential conflicts of interest within the administration.
