Guadalajara, led by Antonio Contreras, earns second Apertura women's league win

Guadalajara, under the guidance of Spanish coach Antonio Contreras, achieved their second consecutive win in the Apertura women's football league, defeating Puebla 4-1.

The match saw Guadalajara dominate from the outset. Jasmine Casarez opened the scoring in the 20th minute with a powerful long-range shot. Joseline Montoya extended the lead just before halftime with a well-placed shot into the far post. In the second half, Alicia Cervantes added a third goal in the 62nd minute from a free-kick, and Denise Castro sealed the victory with a fourth goal in the 83rd minute. Puebla managed a consolation goal in the 88th minute through Brina Micheels.

Elsewhere in the league, San Luis secured a 2-1 victory over Tijuana, with goals from Enyerliannys Higuera (penalty) and Rebeca Contreras. Tijuana's goal came from Jamaican international Trudi Sudan. The second round of matches also featured a 1-1 draw between Atlas and Pachuca, where Noemi Villalobos scored for Atlas and national team player Charlyn Corral equalized for Pachuca.

The defending champions, América, coached by Spaniard Angel Villacampa, delivered a resounding performance by thrashing Cruz Azul 10-0 at the Estadio Azteca, with over 17,000 spectators in attendance. The goals for América came from Gabriela García, Scarlett Camberos, a brace from Brazilian Geyse, Kimberly Rodríguez, two goals from Angelique Saldivar, another brace from Brazilian Priscila da Silva, and a single goal from Spanish player Irene Guerrero. This massive victory marks the third-largest goal difference in the history of the Mexican women's league for América, following their previous 12-1 win over Morelia in Clausura 2018 and an 11-0 defeat of Querétaro in Apertura 2025.

Other results included Monterrey's 3-1 win against Atlante, with goals from Diana García, Spanish player Lucía García, and Costa Rican Valeria del Campo. Pumas UNAM, featuring Spanish player Andrea Pereira, defeated Necaxa 2-1, and Santos Laguna also won 2-1 against Querétaro. The second round was set to conclude with matches involving Toluca against Juárez FC and Tigres UANL.
