Gültepe Honors Former Mayor Aydın Erten on 26th Anniversary of Death

Gültepe, a district in İzmir, Turkey, remembered its former mayor Aydın Erten with a ceremony marking the 26th anniversary of his passing. The event, held at his gravesite in Gültepe Cemetery, was organized by the Konak Municipality in collaboration with the Gültepe Urban Transformation Culture and Solidarity Association, İzmir City Council, and the İzmir 68’liler Platform.

Attendees included the current Konak Mayor Nilüfer Çınarlı Mutlu, Gaziemir Mayor Ünal Işık, representatives from political parties, NGOs, and local community leaders. The ceremony celebrated Erten's impactful tenure, remembering his fight for Gültepe and its residents, his social local governance approach, his pro-people stance, and his determination.

Çağatay Güç, İzmir Provincial Chairman of the Yeni Parti, noted that his generation grew up inspired by Erten's ideology. He recalled how, as a young engineer, Erten's example of dedication to the community and city was a constant reference point, influencing many young professionals to adopt his principles.
