Gunfire erupts during concert by 'Chacalón Jr.'s' son in San Juan de Miraflores

Panic erupted during a concert by Jhoan Palacios, son of the renowned Peruvian singer 'Chacalón Jr.', in San Juan de Miraflores early Saturday morning. An armed assailant opened fire on the venue where dozens of people were gathered for the performance in the Pamplona Alta neighborhood.

Security camera footage shows a black car stopping in front of the establishment. A hooded figure emerged from the vehicle, fired several shots at the building's facade, and then quickly returned to the car before speeding away with accomplices. The attack caused alarm among attendees, who sought cover as the shots rang out.

The concert was immediately suspended, and a rapid evacuation of the public ensued. Initial reports indicate that several bullets hit the facade and other parts of the venue. Authorities are also investigating whether any individuals outside the establishment were targeted.

Peruvian police are exploring extortion as a potential motive for the attack. Local media reports suggest the property owner had received threats approximately three years prior, though no recent warnings were reported. This incident occurs amid growing concerns over a wave of armed attacks against commercial establishments and event venues across Lima, many of which are suspected to be linked to extortion rings.
