Gunmen abduct pastor’s wife and three children in Borno LGA

Gunmen, believed to be members of the Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorist group, have abducted the wife of a pastor and her three children in Damasak, the headquarters of Mobbar local government area in Borno state. The incident took place on Saturday around noon as the family was traveling to Damasak.

A source from the community reported that the terrorists stopped a commercial vehicle near Kareto village. They ordered the pastor's wife and her three children to disembark, leaving the other passengers and the driver unharmed. The pastor's wife had recently been discharged from a hospital in Maiduguri after a prolonged illness.

As of the time of reporting, the whereabouts of the abducted individuals remain unknown. A local resident, speaking anonymously, appealed for prayers and solidarity, suggesting that the victims were specifically targeted due to their religious identity. Damasak is located in Northern Borno Senatorial District, approximately 156 kilometers from the state capital, Maiduguri.
