Gunmen kill 30-year-old man in Plateau community

A 30-year-old man, Khalid Wahid, was killed by gunmen who invaded his residence in the Dong community of Jos North Local Government Area in Plateau State, Nigeria. The attackers reportedly stormed the victim's home around 1 a.m. on Sunday, forcibly dragged him outside, and fatally attacked him before escaping the scene.

An uncle of the deceased, Mr. Busari Kamal, confirmed the incident, describing it as shocking and unprovoked. Kamal stated that the assailants did not steal any of Wahid's belongings, including his phone, suggesting their primary objective was to harm him. The victim was found lifeless outside his residence shortly after the attackers departed.

The motive behind the killing is currently unknown, and the incident has caused significant grief among residents. It has also heightened concerns about the prevailing security situation in the community. Khalid Wahid was buried according to Islamic rites. Efforts to obtain comments from security agencies were unsuccessful at the time of reporting.
