Gunmen kill former security chief in Rivers

A former security chief, identified as Mr. Kine, was fatally shot by unknown assailants on Sunday evening in Rivers State, Nigeria. The attack occurred around 6 p.m. along Polytechnic Road in Bori, within the Khana Local Government Area.

The victim's body has been taken to a mortuary pending an autopsy as police launch a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the killing.

He expressed concern that this killing follows closely on the heels of another murder in the Kpong Community. Bariere suggested that the repeated attacks indicate the presence of armed criminal gangs aiming to destabilize the region and called for intensified security operations and swift apprehension of the perpetrators.
