Former OnlyFans model Courtney Clenney has been sentenced to six years in prison for the manslaughter of her Nigerian-American boyfriend, Christian Tobechukwu Obumseli. Clenney, 30, pleaded guilty to manslaughter with a deadly weapon on Monday for the April 3, 2022, stabbing death of Obumseli, 27, at their Miami apartment.

Under the plea agreement, Clenney will be credited for the nearly four years she has already spent in custody since her arrest in August 2022. This leaves her with approximately two more years to serve before beginning a five-year probation period. As part of her sentence, she will be required to undergo mental health and substance abuse evaluations and treatment.

Assistant State Attorney Shawn Abuhoff emphasized that prosecutors would oppose any effort by Clenney to financially benefit from Obumseli's death, stating, “We do believe that nobody should benefit financially from murdering somebody.”

Obumseli's family expressed that his death has left an irreparable void. His mother told the court, “No sentence, no plea can bring back my son to me.” A family representative added that Obumseli, who was from Texas, had a bright future and a meaningful life that was cut short, while Clenney still has the opportunity to continue hers. Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle noted that the plea agreement allowed Obumseli's family to hear Clenney accept responsibility, and that the agreement was reached with their consultation and approval. Clenney had initially claimed self-defense, but prosecutors presented evidence of a pattern of domestic violence in their relationship.
