Haenam: Elderly Man Crushed by Power Tiller, Transported to Hospital in Cardiac Arrest

A serious accident occurred in Haenam County, South Jeolla Province, South Korea, where an elderly man was found trapped under a power tiller. The incident took place on a rural road in a village on the afternoon of August 9th.

Emergency services received a report around 1:15 PM about a man, identified as Mr. A and believed to be in his 80s, found pinned beneath the agricultural machinery. Upon arrival, rescuers discovered Mr. A in a state of cardiac arrest. He was subsequently extricated by the 119 emergency services and rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention.

According to preliminary information gathered from his family, Mr. A had left his home around noon on the same day with the intention of working in the rice paddy using the power tiller. It was during this activity that the accident is presumed to have occurred.

Authorities are currently investigating the precise circumstances surrounding the accident. Family members reported that they became concerned when Mr. A could not be contacted and subsequently found him trapped under the tiller.
