Hajduk Legend Clashed With Mamić in VIP Box Brawl, Fists Flew at Poljud Stadium

The 2014 "eternal derby" between Hajduk Split and Dinamo Zagreb was marred by a shocking incident in the VIP box. Zdravko Mamić, Dinamo's executive director at the time, became the center of attention from the start, verbally clashing with spectators and responding to provocations with gestures.

His behavior escalated dramatically after a foul during the match. Following Dinamo's 2-0 victory, Mamić's celebratory reaction to a goal by Alen Halilović pushed Hajduk legend Ivo Bego too far. Known for his "Hajduk heart," Bego physically confronted Mamić, leading to chaos in the box that was eventually contained by other guests and security.

The situation required intervention from special police forces. Mamić was escorted out, but not before being punched in the head by Rajko Buljan. Both Mamić and Bego, along with Buljan, were taken to the police station. Mamić was fined approximately 100 euros for disturbing public order, while Bego received a fine of about 50 euros. Both had a day in custody counted towards their penalties.
