Israel has officially confirmed the successful elimination of Mohammed Odeh, the newly appointed military chief of Hamas, who held the position for a mere 11 days. The confirmation came from the Israeli military and the Shin Bet security agency on Monday.

Following the announcement, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz issued a stern statement, declaring that Odeh, described as a planner of the October 7th massacre, had been sent "to the depths of hell to meet his accomplices." Katz reiterated on social media platform X that Israel is committed to eliminating all orchestrators of the October 7th attacks, regardless of their location.

Odeh assumed command after his predecessor, Izz al-Din al-Haddad, was killed in an Israeli airstrike on May 15th. Hamas has not officially confirmed Odeh's death, and his succession had not been formally announced through the group's propaganda channels prior to the Israeli confirmation.

Since the conflict began, the Israeli military has targeted several high-ranking Hamas officials, including former political bureau leader Ismail Haniyeh, Gaza leader Yahya Sinwar, and military commander Mohammed Deif.
