Hearts spoil Medeama party …Nations FC, Eleven Wonders, Hohoe United relegated

Hearts of Oak delivered a stunning attacking performance to defeat Ghana Premier League champions Medeama SC 4-2 in their final match of the season at the Accra Sports Stadium. The victory denied Medeama a celebratory end to their title-winning campaign.

Mawuli Wayo scored twice, Hamza Issah added another goal, and an own goal by Medeama's Jacob Amu Mensah sealed the win for Hearts. Issah opened the scoring in the fourth minute, assisted by Mohammed Hussein. Wayo extended the lead in the 57th minute from a rebound, before Medeama substitute Kingsley Braye pulled one back in the 63rd minute.

Hearts' lead was re-established when Amu Mensah directed a Wayo shot into his own net with 12 minutes remaining. Wayo then secured his ninth goal of the season in the final minutes, heading home a cross. Amu Mensah managed to score at the correct end in added time, heading in a cross from Emmanuel Owusu.

In other matches, Swedru All Blacks secured a difficult 2-1 victory over Asante Kotoko, ensuring their survival in the league. Despite Kotoko taking the lead through Clement Tutu, Rudolf Mensah equalized for All Blacks in the second half, and Williams Dankwah scored the winning goal. Kotoko had a late penalty opportunity, but captain Samba O’Neil missed the spot-kick.

With these results, Nations FC joins Eleven Wonders and Hohoe United in relegation from the Ghana Premier League.
