Heikki Herlin buys large stake in game company Remedy

Finnish investor Heikki Herlin has significantly increased his involvement in the gaming industry by acquiring a substantial 7.0% stake in Remedy Entertainment, the acclaimed developer behind titles like Alan Wake, Max Payne, and Control. The acquisition, made through his investment company Mariatorp, positions it as Remedy's fourth-largest shareholder.

The shares were purchased from key figures within the company: founder Markus Mäki, creative director Sami Järvi, and the investment firm Accendo Capital. Following this transaction, Mäki, Chinese company Tencent, and Accendo Capital remain the largest shareholders. Remedy, established in 1995, went public on the stock exchange in 2017.
