A controversy surrounding a modified protective helmet used by Spanish creator Rocío López, known as RoRo, has surfaced following her boxing match against Mexican streamer Samy Rivera, "Rivers," at 'La Velada del Año VI'. The dispute centers on communication and perceived advantages related to the equipment.

Rivers' team raised concerns during the weigh-in, stating they were not adequately informed about the change in RoRo's protective helmet. This modification was reportedly due to a recent nose operation. Rivers' camp suggested the altered helmet might reduce the impact of received blows, potentially giving RoRo an unfair advantage.

Event organizer Ibai Llanos addressed the situation, explaining that he was personally unaware of RoRo's specific medical condition that necessitated the helmet change. He mentioned that RoRo had only informed him of back pain, which was not deemed a fight-affecting issue and was not detailed in her contract. Llanos emphasized that such information should have been communicated clearly to the opposing team.

RoRo herself responded to the criticism, asserting that the helmet did not enhance her ability to land more punches. She claimed it actually reduced her field of vision and did not fully protect her, as evidenced by her swollen and red nose post-fight. She maintained that her condition and the need for the specific helmet were communicated to the organization team in advance, deeming it essential for a good performance. The organization eventually added extra padding to the helmet to address the concerns.
