Heraklion Alert: Gunshots Fired in Central Area After Heated Argument

A shooting incident caused alarm in the village of Archanes, Heraklion, on Sunday afternoon when a man allegedly fired shots in a central area. The incident followed an intense argument outside a local cafe.

According to police sources, the suspect had previously argued with another individual at a restaurant in the village. He later returned to the scene, riding as a passenger in a car, and fired shots from the vehicle. The incident occurred outside a cafe where groups of residents were gathered. The circumstances leading to the dispute are still under investigation.

Eyewitnesses reported that one of the individuals involved threatened to return with a weapon. Shortly after, at least four gunshots were heard, creating panic among residents. The individuals involved are reportedly around 25 years old.

Despite the fear and chaos, no injuries were reported. Strong police forces were immediately mobilized to locate the suspect and his accomplices. The suspects fled the scene in a car, but authorities have identified the vehicle and are conducting a pursuit to apprehend them.
