High Expectations for the 2nd International Senior Polo Tournament in Arroyos y Esteros

Arroyos y Esteros is set to host the second International Senior Polo Tournament, a significant event for equestrian sports enthusiasts. Scheduled for August 8 and 9, the tournament will unfold at the Arroyos y Esteros Polo Club, with matches commencing at noon. The venue, the Carlos Franco Country & Golf Club, is located 67 kilometers from the capital, providing a dedicated space for this senior-level competition.

The Arroyos y Esteros Polo Club organizes the great event for lovers of equestrian sports, which will take place in said city.

The tournament is expected to draw players from across the Mercosur region. Paraguay will be represented by six teams, bolstered by the support of the Paraguayan Polo Federation. A notable development for this year's event is the backing from the Argentine Polo Association, a significant endorsement given Argentina's global standing in the sport. This collaboration is seen as a major boost for Paraguayan polo.

For the first time in this sport, we will have the important support of the Argentine Polo Association, which represents a great boost for Paraguayan polo, given the well-known world-class quality of our neighbors in this discipline.

Competition will be structured in the Senior Over 50 category, with games played over four chukkers. Teams will be assembled based on player skill level and a draw, ensuring balanced competition. A crucial element of the tournament's organization is the provision of horses by Paraguayan polo players, an essential contribution that makes the event feasible.

Last year's inaugural tournament saw a winning team composed of Argentines Johnny Colombres and Eugenio Castelli, alongside Paraguayans Sebastián Brizuela and Lalo Mezza. The organizers have expressed gratitude for the substantial support from numerous Paraguayan players and the Carlos Franco Country & Golf Club, highlighting the collaborative spirit behind the event.
