High Hotel Occupancy Expected for World Rally in Itapúa

The department of Itapúa, Paraguay, is gearing up for the 2026 World Rally Championship, an event anticipated to be the region's most significant sporting and tourist attraction of the year. Following the success of the previous competition, preparations are underway, with early indicators pointing to strong visitor turnout.

Tourism figures from the National Secretariat of Tourism (Senatur) show a notable increase in accommodation reservations. The Itapúa Hoteliers Association (ASHOIT) reports that its member establishments have already confirmed 70% of their bookings for the rally dates. This high occupancy rate reflects significant interest from both domestic and international tourists eager to attend the event.

Despite the high booking rates, authorities assure that there is still availability for visitors. Independent hotels, tourist inns, guesthouses, camping sites, and other registered accommodations across various districts of Itapúa are prepared to welcome attendees. Senatur encourages prospective visitors to book their stays in advance through registered establishments to ensure a comfortable and secure experience.

The 2026 edition of the Paraguay Rally is scheduled to take place from August 27 to 30. The rally route will include 22 timed stages, establishing it as the longest competitive rally of the 2026 World Rally Championship season. The event promises to showcase the region's hospitality and scenic landscapes.
