Hima Persis Holds Business Forum to Equip Gen Z With Business Strategies

The Muslim Students Association of Persatuan Islam has brought young people together in Jakarta for a program focused on turning entrepreneurship into a practical path for the next generation.

The Hima Persis Preneur Bootcamp & Business Forum, held at the Nusantara Hall of the Education Quality Assurance Agency, examined entrepreneurship, access to capital, Islamic finance and business development. Organizers said the program aimed to strengthen young people's ability to build and sustain businesses.

Sholahudin Hasan, chairman of the central board of Hima Persis, urged members to take a more active role in the economy. “We invite all cadres to dare to take on the role of resilient entrepreneurs who can make a real impact on the national economy,” he said.

The forum also brought perspectives from government and financial-sector figures. Presidential Special Envoy for Tourism Zita Anjani spoke about young people's role in building a business ecosystem that supports economic growth. Nizar Ahmad Saputra, an independent commissioner at Bank Syariah Indonesia, discussed the role of Islamic finance in sustaining businesses. Agriculture Ministry Secretary-General Suwandi highlighted agribusiness and food security as opportunities for young entrepreneurs.

Persatuan Islam chairman K.H. Jeje Zaenudin stressed that business success should not be measured only in financial terms. “I remind participants not only to pursue financial success, but also to always maintain moral integrity and Islamic ethics in running their businesses,” he said. After the opening session, participants attended workshops and a business forum covering technical capacity, business implementation strategies and professional networking.
