Hino supports vocational education with truck donation to Makassar school

PT Hino Motors Sales Indonesia (HMSI) has demonstrated its commitment to vocational education by donating a Hino 300 truck and various vehicle components to SMKN 5 Makassar in South Sulawesi. The handover, which occurred on a Friday, aims to provide students with practical, hands-on experience to enhance their skills.

Shingo Sakai, President Director of HMSI, expressed confidence in the vital role education plays in developing a competent workforce. He stated that the company's initiative through the Hino Indonesia Partnership School (HIPS) program is a tangible contribution towards fostering skilled Indonesian youth aligned with current industry demands.

The donation is part of Hino's CSR efforts through the HIPS program, designed to elevate vocational training quality and prepare students for the automotive and commercial vehicle industries. This facility allows students to learn about commercial vehicle technologies, including common rail diesel engines, air braking systems, and truck electrical systems, all crucial for the national transportation and logistics sectors.

Beyond the equipment donation, HMSI and SMKN 5 Makassar will launch an Hino industry class in the 2026 academic year for 20 selected students. The school's head, Amar Bachti, welcomed the collaboration, believing the HIPS program will significantly boost student readiness for the job market. The HIPS program encompasses more than just equipment; it includes technical training, industry-aligned curriculum development, competency certification, and capacity building for teachers and students, contributing to Hino's ongoing efforts to build an educational ecosystem that meets the evolving needs of the transportation industry and automotive technology in Indonesia.
