HJK sells 18-year-old forward to Turkey

Helsinki's football club HJK has finalized the sale of its promising 18-year-old forward, Salem Bouajila, to Göztepe SK, a team competing in Turkey's Super Lig. Bouajila had been playing for Göztepe on loan since the previous summer, and the Turkish club has now decided to exercise the purchase option included in his loan agreement.

HJK will receive an undisclosed transfer fee for Bouajila, who has spent his entire career within the HJK organization in Finland. Prior to his move to Turkey, Bouajila had a stint on loan at Austria's SV Guntamatic Ried at the beginning of last season. He later returned to Helsinki, joining HJK Klubi 04 and playing two matches in Finland before his transfer to Göztepe.

During his loan spell with Göztepe last season, Bouajila primarily played for their U19 team, where he showcased his scoring ability with 17 goals in 22 matches. He also made four appearances for Göztepe's senior team, though he did not register any goals or assists. Born in Finland, Bouajila represents Tunisia at the youth international level and previously played two matches for Finland's U-17 team in 2024.
