Hjulmand Joins Atlético Madrid Preseason Training

Atlético Madrid coach Diego Simeone has welcomed his newest signing, Danish international Morten Hjulmand, to the team's preseason training. Hjulmand joined the squad's morning session on Tuesday, ahead of their five-day training camp in Los Ángeles de San Rafael, Segovia.

Hjulmand, who arrived from Sporting CP for a transfer fee of 40 million euros plus 5 million in variables, had been granted permission by the club to miss Monday's training for personal reasons. His incorporation marks a significant step in the team's preparations, although Atlético is still far from having a full squad available.

The ongoing World Cup continues to impact the team's preseason, with twelve players yet to rejoin. Nine are still competing in the tournament in the United States, while three are on post-World Cup leave. Additionally, Johnny Cardoso is undergoing specific rehabilitation in Majadahonda for an ankle operation performed at the end of last season.
