Ho Chi Minh City Invests VND510 Billion to Rebuild Zone C of Nguyen Tri Phuong Hospital

Ho Chi Minh City has officially commenced the construction of Zone C at Nguyen Tri Phuong Hospital, a project backed by an investment of VND510 billion (approximately $20 million USD). This initiative is designed to elevate the quality of medical examinations and treatments and foster the development of specialized medical techniques, thereby contributing to the city's broader healthcare goals.

The project aligns with Resolution 72 of the Politburo, which outlines breakthrough solutions for protecting, caring for, and improving public health. It also supports the objective of enhancing healthcare services as outlined in the resolutions of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee's Congress for the 2025-2030 term. The new Zone C is classified as a Group B project, a Grade II civil work with an intended lifespan of 50 years.

The project is a healthcare infrastructure work that concretizes Resolution 72 of the Politburo on breakthrough solutions to strengthen the protection, care, and improvement of people's health; at the same time, it contributes to achieving the goal of improving the quality of medical services according to the Resolution of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Congress for the 2025-2030 term.

The main structure will comprise a basement, ten stories, and a technical floor, encompassing a total construction floor area of 14,717.8 square meters, along with a 123.82 square meter electrical technical house. The design incorporates functional areas optimized for specialized medical activities. The facility will be equipped with integrated technical systems, including a Building Management System (BMS), fire prevention and fighting systems, air conditioning and ventilation, clean and medical gas systems, an uninterruptible power supply (UPS), isolation transformers, RO solar-powered sterilization handwashing systems, and an automatic sample transport system.

Dr. Vo Duc Chien, Director of Nguyen Tri Phuong Hospital, noted that the hospital, with 123 years of history, currently handles over 2,500 outpatient visits, 600-700 inpatients, and around 100 emergency cases daily. The hospital has also developed specialized fields such as endocrinology, dialysis, and deep brain stimulation for Parkinson's treatment. However, increasing patient demand and the aging infrastructure of existing facilities necessitate this expansion. The project is scheduled for completion by the end of 2028.
