Ho Chi Minh City merges North Tan Uyen medical center into Binh Duong General Hospital

Ho Chi Minh City is continuing to reorganize its grassroots healthcare system, with the latest move involving the merger of the North Tan Uyen Regional Medical Center into Binh Duong General Hospital. This decision, signed by Nguyen Manh Cuong, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, officially took effect on July 8.

Following the merger, the North Tan Uyen Regional Medical Center will cease its operations. All its functions, tasks, organizational structure, personnel, facilities, equipment, finances, assets, and related rights and obligations will be transferred to Binh Duong General Hospital for continued management and utilization in accordance with regulations. The city's People's Committee has directed that the handover and acceptance of assets be conducted transparently and in compliance with public asset management laws, ensuring no state assets are lost and hospital operations are not disrupted.

The North Tan Uyen Regional Medical Center was previously the North Tan Uyen District Medical Center in the old Binh Duong province before its integration with Ho Chi Minh City. After the reorganization, Binh Duong General Hospital will operate with its main facility at 5 Pham Ngoc Thach Street, Phu Loi Ward, and its second facility at DT746 Street, Tan Thanh 2 Hamlet, Bac Tan Uyen Commune.

The hospital will be under the direct and comprehensive management of the Department of Health for professional, technical, operational, and financial matters, as well as receiving guidance from the Ministry of Health. A 30-day transition period is allocated for the handover, during which the North Tan Uyen Regional Medical Center will coordinate with Binh Duong General Hospital and relevant agencies to inventory, reconcile, and transfer all organizational, personnel, financial, asset, and documentation matters. Upon completion, the center will proceed with the procedures to return its seal to the Ho Chi Minh City Police.
