Ho Chi Minh City provides free medical care in historical revolutionary areas

Residents in Ho Chi Minh City's historical revolutionary base areas will receive free medical examinations, health consultations, and medicine. The program, launched on July 25, is organized by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City in collaboration with Military Hospital 7A.

This initiative is held in commemoration of the 79th anniversary of Vietnam's War Invalids and Martyrs Day. Nguyen Phuoc Loc, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, stated that the day is an occasion to express gratitude to fallen heroes, war invalids, and those who have contributed to the revolution. He highlighted that these revolutionary base areas served as crucial support during wartime, with their people enduring hardship and sacrifice.

Loc emphasized that caring for the health of the people in these areas, especially families of martyrs and those who contributed to the revolution, is not only a regular duty but also a demonstration of gratitude from the city's Party, government, and people. He urged medical staff to carry their professional knowledge and skills along with the deep gratitude of the city's leadership and citizens.

The program will be implemented in 10 designated areas, with an estimated 500 to 1,000 people receiving services in each location. Priority will be given to families of martyrs, individuals with meritorious services to the revolution, the elderly, people with disabilities, poor households, near-poor households, and individuals with chronic illnesses. Health records from these examinations will be transferred to local health stations for ongoing management and care, ensuring continuous health support for the community.
