Ho Chi Minh City to host Asia Open Pickleball Championships with over $55,000 in prizes

Ho Chi Minh City is set to host the Asia Open Pickleball Championships (AOPC) 2026, featuring a substantial prize fund of over $55,000 USD. This event is positioned not only as a premier competition for top Asian players but also as a crucial platform for Vietnamese athletes to gain international experience and showcase their skills.

With a total prize value expected to exceed $55,000 USD, AOPC 2026 is not only a high-class arena for top Asian athletes but also a place for domestic athletes to exchange, compete, and assert their capabilities on the international stage.

The AOPC 2026, scheduled from July 9-12 at the Swin Pickleball courts, is an official tournament within the Asia Federation of Pickleball (AFP) system. Player results will contribute to the World Pickleball Federation (WPF) rankings. This marks a return to Vietnam for the AOPC, which successfully hosted over 400 athletes from more than 20 countries in 2024, solidifying Vietnam's presence on the international pickleball map.

Broadcasting by VTVcab across multiple platforms aims to boost the sport's recognition within Vietnam and expand its fan base. The tournament's significant prize money, with singles champions receiving $5,000 and doubles champions $10,000, underscores its ambition to attract top talent and elevate the sport's profile.
