Ho Chi Minh City to Screen Free Films at 57 Cinemas July 22-24

Ho Chi Minh City is set to host a free film screening event across 57 cinemas from July 22 to July 24. The program aims to honor war veterans and those who have contributed to the nation's revolutionary efforts, while also fostering patriotism among the public.

Six Vietnamese films focusing on historical struggles, national defense wars, and the image of Vietnamese soldiers will be shown. These include "Don't Burn" (2008), "Scent of Grass Burning" (2011), "The Legend Makers" (2013), "Road Through the Forest" (2015), "Legend of the Fairy Well" (2019), and "Red Dawn" (2021). These state-commissioned works are recognized for their ideological and artistic value.

The initiative is part of a larger film week organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, running nationwide from July 21 to July 28. This week commemorates the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day on July 27. The screenings are intended to express gratitude to fallen heroes, wounded soldiers, and individuals who have served the nation.
