Ho Tan Tai Parts Ways With Becamex Binh Duong After Team's Relegation

Defender Ho Tan Tai is set to depart from Becamex Binh Duong, marking the end of his second stint with the club following their relegation from the V-League. The team, which finished at the bottom of the league standings for the 2025-2026 season, will compete in the First Division in the upcoming 2026-2027 season.

Tai, born in 1997, first played for Becamex Binh Duong (formerly known as Becamex TP.HCM) between 2018 and 2021. He rejoined the team for the 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 seasons. His most successful period with the club was in 2018 when he won the National Cup under coach Tran Minh Chien and was a runner-up in the 2018 National Super Cup.

This season, Tai made a comeback after recovering from a cruciate ligament tear sustained during the AFF Cup 2024. He played in 12 matches, scoring 12 goals, and received two yellow cards and one red card. His notable goal was a curling strike against PVF-CAND in the first leg of the V-League 2025-2026 season. He also received a red card in a 0-1 loss to Song Lam Nghe An in round 22.

Tai's departure is expected to be the first of many as other players like Minh Khoa, Viet Cuong, and Bui Vi Hao may also leave the club. Becamex Binh Duong secured only 24 points from 26 matches, finishing level with PVF-CAND and Da Nang but falling short on head-to-head records, which sealed their relegation.
