Home Ministry to Study Easing Border Crossings for Johor Election Voters

Malaysia's Home Ministry is actively reviewing potential measures to facilitate border crossings for voters participating in the Johor state election. The focus is on simplifying access through the Johor Causeway and the Second Link, aiming to ensure a smooth and secure voting process for those traveling across the border.

Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail stated that the ministry will examine the necessity of these measures. The intention is to enable voters residing or working in Singapore to return to Johor to fulfill their civic duty without undue difficulty.

Any subsequent decisions and announcements regarding these facilitation measures will be made following the official confirmation of election dates and procedures by the Election Commission (SPR). This proactive approach by the Home Ministry aims to address logistical challenges for Johor voters living abroad.
