While convenient, home printing leaves a significant environmental footprint that often goes unnoticed. The discarded ink and toner cartridges, obsolete printers, energy consumed during operation, and excessive paper usage all accumulate into an environmental burden larger than commonly perceived.

The most critical issue is the improper disposal of consumables. Empty cartridges and toners frequently end up in landfills or mixed waste. These items contain metals, electronics, toner powder, and chemicals that do not degrade naturally and can pollute soil and air.
