Hong Kong Stars Yang Ming and Lisa Chong Marry After Decade-Long Relationship

Hong Kong television stars Yang Ming and Lisa Chong (Chong Sze-man) celebrated their marriage in Kuala Lumpur, marking the culmination of a decade-long relationship. The couple, known for their roles on TVB, exchanged vows at the JW Marriott Hotel, surrounded by nearly a hundred artists, including veteran performer Nancy Sit.

Their journey together has been tested by adversity. Yang Ming faced significant career repercussions after a 2020 incident involving drunk driving, resisting arrest, and damaging a historic stone wall. This led to his suspension by TVB and a period of professional difficulty. Throughout this challenging time, Chong, who is the daughter of the late Malaysian Datuk Zhuang Bao, stood by him, providing financial support for his legal defense and visiting him during his 18-day jail sentence in 2022.

Despite societal skepticism regarding their disparate backgrounds, Chong being referred to as a "Datuk's daughter" and Yang Ming having faced legal troubles, the couple's bond remained strong. They met in 2016 while working on the TVB drama "All Things About My Family" and eventually moved in together. Chong had previously stated her commitment, saying she would only marry Yang Ming.

The wedding ceremony saw the couple exchange rings and share multiple kisses amidst cheers. They also participated in a traditional tea ceremony, during which both Yang Ming's mother and Chong's mother were visibly moved. Looking ahead, Yang Ming expressed a desire for a son first, followed by a daughter, citing a wish for an elder son to protect his sister, a sentiment Chong praised as thoughtful.
