The Hong Phuc gold shop, a business in My Tho, Dong Thap province, Vietnam, has announced a temporary suspension of operations lasting over two months. The closure, effective from July 16 to September 19, is officially stated as a measure to "restructure and improve service quality." This announcement has caused considerable concern among the shop's customers. Following the initial notice on July 16, many customers flocked to other gold shops in the My Tho area to conduct transactions, leading to crowded conditions at competing establishments. Earlier, on the evening of July 16, a different gold shop in My Tho also experienced a surge in customers, with staff stating they were temporarily closing to serve those already inside. Another gold shop on Le Van Duyet street was also busy on the morning of July 17, with customers waiting for their turn. Currently, gold shops in My Tho are prioritizing buying back products they previously sold.
