Hormuz crisis escalates again as Iran says it attacked US-linked ships and tankers

The crisis around the Strait of Hormuz has intensified again, with Iran claiming attacks on tankers and vessels linked to the United States after Washington struck three Iranian tankers.

According to a statement from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy, its forces attacked three tankers that were traveling through an “unauthorized route” in the Strait of Hormuz. The force also said it attacked three US-related ships in another area.

The claims, reported by AFP and other outlets, marked what the Iranian side described as retaliation following the US strikes on the three Iranian tankers.
