Horses Flee Flames as Wildfire Rages in Megara, Greece

A destructive fire continues to rage in Megara, Greece, with flames advancing ominously towards the Agia Skepi area. Firefighting forces are engaged in a critical battle to contain the blaze and prevent its spread towards a local firing range.

Dramatic scenes unfolded as three horses, two adults and a foal, were captured on video desperately fleeing the encroaching flames. The footage highlights the immediate danger posed by the fire to wildlife and the surrounding environment as it carves a destructive path through the region.

Efforts by the fire services are currently concentrated on two key fronts: Agios Nektarios and Kandili of Megara. In response to the escalating situation, an emergency message was issued via the 112 emergency system at 3:24 AM, urging residents in the Skepi, Kandili, and Botsika areas to evacuate towards Nea Peramos.
