Hot, humid weather continues across Egypt on Monday

Egypt will continue to grapple with hot and humid conditions across most of the country on Monday, according to the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA).

While the nights and early mornings are forecast to be mild, daytime temperatures will be hot and humid in northern Egypt, including Greater Cairo and northern Upper Egypt. Southern Upper Egypt will experience very hot weather, with temperatures in the mild range across most other areas.

The EMA highlighted that the high humidity will increase the perceived temperature by one to two degrees Celsius above the actual shade temperature. Greater Cairo is expected to reach 33C, northern Upper Egypt 35C, and southern Upper Egypt 39C. Temperatures along the northwestern coast will be around 28C.

Active winds are anticipated intermittently across much of the country, potentially causing sand and dust in exposed areas of southern Upper Egypt and the Red Sea Governorate. There is a very slight chance of light, scattered rain in some northern coastal and Lower Egypt areas. The EMA advised citizens to stay updated on forecasts and take precautions, especially with high temperatures and humidity coinciding with public gatherings to watch World Cup matches.
