Hot weather: Sun and up to 36 degrees expected in Berlin and Brandenburg

Berlin and Brandenburg can expect a significant heatwave in the coming days, with temperatures climbing steadily towards the weekend. The German Weather Service (DWD) forecasts highs of 28 to 30 degrees Celsius for Thursday, accompanied by mostly sunny skies and light easterly winds.

Friday is predicted to be even hotter, with temperatures reaching between 32 and 34 degrees Celsius. The DWD anticipates continued sunshine and light winds, with clear skies persisting through the night. The heat is set to intensify further on Saturday, when temperatures could soar to between 33 and 36 degrees Celsius.

While Saturday will begin with abundant sunshine and few clouds, the weather service expects cloud cover to increase throughout the day. Showers are possible in the Prignitz region. By Sunday morning, the forecast indicates a shift towards wetter conditions, with widespread rain and thunderstorms expected to move eastward from the northern half of the region. Overnight temperatures will range from 11 to 19 degrees Celsius.
