How LASU’s Aerospace Engineering graduate, Adebanjo Oluolamide, achieved 4.97 CGPA

Adebanjo Oluolamide has concluded his undergraduate studies at Lagos State University (LASU) with a remarkable 4.97 CGPA, earning him the distinction of overall best graduating student for the 2025/2026 academic session. The Aerospace Engineering graduate achieved First Class Honours, marking the highest score recorded by the university for that session.

Oluolamide attributed his success to divine grace, wisdom, and strength, while also acknowledging the significant effort invested in his academic journey. His achievements extend beyond his final grades; he was also recognized as Scholar of the Year at the AESA-LASU Dinner for the second time during his undergraduate tenure. He described this award as a fitting culmination of years of hard work, late nights, intensive research, and unwavering focus.

His dedication to research has also garnered external recognition. In July, Oluolamide announced that two of his research papers were accepted for presentation at the Society of Petroleum Engineers' NAICE 2026 conference in Lagos. He had previously sought financial assistance to attend and present his findings, highlighting the need for ₦200,000 to support his participation.

Oluolamide is part of a large cohort of students set to receive their degrees at LASU's combined 29th and 30th convocation ceremonies, scheduled to take place from August 14 to 23.
