How Police Uncovered Staged Robbery in Menteng

Jakarta police have exposed a meticulously planned fake robbery that was staged to conceal a violent assault between two colleagues. The incident, which occurred in the upscale Menteng area of Central Jakarta, initially appeared to be a brazen daytime burglary.

It was just an alibi to obscure the real incident.

The case began when a woman, identified by the initial T, reported to the Menteng police that she was the victim of a violent robbery. She claimed two unknown individuals entered her employer's home through the rooftop and, despite her attempts to intervene, proceeded to assault and rob her male colleague, MHA. T alleged that 500 grams of gold, including bars and jewelry, were stolen.

However, inconsistencies in T's account and witness statements quickly raised suspicions. Investigators found no evidence of external intruders. Instead, the probe concluded that T was solely responsible for the assault on MHA. The fabricated robbery narrative was designed to obscure the true nature of the events.

There were no two people who entered the victim's house as reported. Instead, the assault on Mr. MHA was carried out by Ms. T herself.

Further investigation revealed a significant time lapse of over an hour between the alleged assault and T's report to the police, during which MHA did not seek help. T's brother subsequently reported her to the police for aggravated assault and attempted premeditated murder. Evidence suggests T used a makeshift electric shock device and then attacked MHA with a frying pan when he remained conscious.

Whereas for one hour, the victim did not contact anyone else, did not scream for help from neighbors or security, did not call paramedics to help the victim.
