How to apply for police character certificate, tinted glass permit

Applicants can now apply for a Police Character Certificate and a Tinted Glass Permit through the POSSAP platform, significantly reducing the need for in-person visits for initial steps.

The online application requires applicants to provide identification details, personal information, and contact information. For the Tinted Glass Permit, the process involves selecting the service, completing the online form, confirming details, and making the required payment. Both applications require similar personal data.

Key guidelines emphasize that the Nigeria Police Force reserves the right to approve or reject applications based on operational and security considerations. Submission of false information or forged documents will result in automatic rejection and possible penalties. Applicants in Nigeria must attend a scheduled appointment for biometric capture. A non-refundable fee covers application and processing, with no additional charges at police formations. Processing typically takes a minimum of 72 hours.
