Hrgović's opponent Itauma speaks with respect: 'A long night awaits me'

Croatian boxer Filip Hrgović is preparing for the biggest fight of his career as he challenges for the vacant IBF world heavyweight title against undefeated British prospect Moses Itauma. The bout is scheduled for August 29th at the O2 Arena in London.

Itauma, at just 21 years old, boasts a perfect professional record of 16 wins, with 14 of those victories coming by knockout. His promoters recognized his talent early, carefully building his ranking against carefully selected opponents, many of whom were nearing the end of their careers. While Hrgović brings significant experience, including a previous world title challenge against Daniel Dubois, and is coming off a streak of three convincing wins, Itauma acknowledges the challenge. He stated that the fight being elevated to a world title bout after initial arrangements does not add extra pressure. I was taking Hrgović seriously anyway, and now that it's for the world title, I still take him seriously. It's the same fight, isn't it?" Itauma remarked.
