Hsinchu community university celebrates student achievements, launches new fall courses

Hsinchu County's Feng Hu Community University celebrated the achievements of its spring semester and unveiled its fall course offerings at a vibrant exhibition and fair held at the Shengli Sports Park.

The event, themed "Feng Hu Co-learning, Artistic Flourishing," drew approximately 600 participants from the Xinfeng and Hukou areas. Attendees enjoyed a dynamic display of cultural integration, featuring both live performances and static displays with interactive elements. Vice County Magistrate Chen Chien-hsien and Feng Hu Community University President Liu Chung-chih were among the dignitaries present.

Chen highlighted the university's 20-year commitment to community education in Hsinchu County, noting Feng Hu's three years of operation. The spring semester saw 53 courses offered, attracting 868 participants and hosting six public issue events. He emphasized the university's "K12 Education Linkage Project," which collaborates with local schools to foster local identity through activities like ecological exploration and historical site visits.

Education Bureau Director Tsai Shu-chen added that the exhibition's location in a public recreational space signifies learning extending beyond classrooms. The fair not only showcased the results of the K12 project and cross-cultural performances by new immigrant students but also introduced new fall courses, such as "Guzheng for Beginners." The university aims to build a "Feng Hu Local Studies" framework to promote sustainable local development, with fall courses commencing in September. Registration is now open.
