Hsinchu County's Jiujiang Lake Calls for a Thousand People to Wash Ai Yu and Enjoy Ai Yu Rice Noodle Set Meals on August 22

Xinpu's Jiujiang Lake in Hsinchu County is gearing up for its annual "Thousand People Wash Ai Yu" festival on August 22. This popular summer event, now a tradition, invites locals and visitors to participate in the hands-on process of preparing ai yu jelly.

This year's festival introduces a novel culinary experience: the "Ai Yu Mushroom Soup Feast." This dish combines the rich flavors of mushroom soup with fresh ai yu and dried fruits, offering a unique taste sensation. Additionally, a special "Ai Yu Rice Noodle Feast" set meal has been developed in collaboration with "Chef Mumu," highlighting local Xinpu rice noodles. Only 300 of these limited-edition meals will be available, and pre-orders can be made through the registration system.

Organizers emphasize the educational and family-friendly aspects of the event. An ai yu expert will guide attendees through the traditional hand-washing method, demonstrating the transformation from ai yu seeds to the final dessert. The "Ai Yu Story Hall" will offer guided tours, allowing visitors to learn about the ai yu tree, its pollination, and its ecological significance, making it an engaging activity for families.

Participants who register for the "Thousand People Wash Ai Yu" event will receive several benefits. These include a complimentary serving of ai yu jelly, a bowl of Liu Jia Braised Chicken's ai yu mushroom soup, and the option to pre-order the limited ai yu rice noodle set. Attendees can also look forward to a "Sea Day Calendar" as a check-in gift and a raffle with at least 60 prizes.
