HSU Regency Involves Paskibraka as Anti-Drug Ambassadors in Each Sub-District

In a strategic move to combat drug abuse, the Hulu Sungai Utara (HSU) Regency government in South Kalimantan, Indonesia, is mobilizing its youth. The administration plans to involve members and alumni of the Pasukan Pengibar Bendera Pusaka (Paskibraka), the national flag-raising troop, as dedicated anti-drug ambassadors across all sub-districts.

This initiative seeks to establish a robust network for drug prevention and control, with a particular focus on safeguarding the younger generation. HSU Regent Sahrujani highlighted the importance of this program during a Paskibraka training session, emphasizing that the disciplined and strong character of Paskibraka members makes them ideal role models. The government believes these young individuals can serve as a crucial shield for their peers against the dangers of illicit substances.

Regent Sahrujani stressed that tackling the drug problem is a shared responsibility requiring the active participation of the entire community. He underscored the critical role of prevention in building a strong defense against the temptation of drug use. "Let us contribute maximally to the efforts of Prevention, Eradication, Abuse, and Illegal Trafficking of Narcotics (P4GN)," he urged, calling for collective action against the pervasive issue.
