"Ice Age 6: Mundo de Lava" Releases First Trailer, Sets February 2027 Release Date

The "Ice Age" franchise is set to return to the big screen with its sixth installment, "Ice Age 6: Mundo de Lava," promising a new adventure for beloved characters Manny, Sid, and Diego. The film, officially titled "Ice Age: Boiling Point" in English, will reunite the core group along with Ellie, Crash, and Eddie, and the adventurous Buck.

In a new adventure that will take the protagonists to explore unprecedented areas of the World of Lost and face new dangers, Ice Age gives the first glimpse of its sixth production, titled Ice Age 6: Mundo de Lava.

Departing from its signature icy landscapes, this new installment will transport the characters to unexplored areas of the World of Lost. Here, they will confront dangers posed by volcanic activity and magma flows. The story will also introduce new species inhabiting volcanic zones, adding to the peril for the protagonists. Media reports highlight the presence of dinosaurs and treacherous lava-filled environments.

Set for a theatrical release on February 5, 2027, the film's first trailer has been unveiled. It features the iconic Scrat the saber-toothed squirrel in a fiery ascent, followed by scenes of the main characters navigating lava-dominated landscapes. The trailer also introduces Baby Scrat, a character recently featured in the Disney+ series "Ice Age: Scrat Tales."

Disney is bringing back the original English voice cast that has been with the franchise since its debut in 2002. Ray Romano returns as Manny, Queen Latifah as Ellie, John Leguizamo as Sid, Denis Leary as Diego, and Simon Pegg as Buck.
