Iconic Citra Warna Kuala Perlis Festival Draws Over 100,000 Visitors

Kuala Perlis's Citra Warna festival has become an iconic annual event, drawing over 100,000 visitors during its three-day run as part of the third annual People's Festival 3.0. The event, held at Dataran Lok 9, coincided with the 83rd birthday celebration of the Raja of Perlis.

The festival showcased a vibrant mix of art, culture, and multi-ethnic performances. It also hosted international-caliber events such as the Perlis International Open Fight Night 3.0, an international and national tug-of-war championship, and the Perlis International Arm Wrestling Championship 2026, alongside giant kite displays.

Menteri Besar Abu Bakar Hamzah highlighted the festival's role in driving economic growth for Perlis. He noted that the event stimulates local economies through increased spending in sectors like food, beverages, accommodation, handicrafts, and tourism services. The festival is also crucial for strengthening the state's tourism sector, which boasts rich cultural heritage and natural beauty.

He emphasized that Citra Warna Kuala Perlis has been consistently held annually for three consecutive years, making Perlis the first state to achieve this.

The opening ceremony was graced by Raja Perlis Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail, accompanied by Raja Muda Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail and Raja Puan Muda Perlis Tuanku Dr. Hajah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil. The festival, organized by the state government, received support from Five Petroleum Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., 99 Speed Mart Holding Berhad, and Aurelius Hospital Alor Setar. The event featured performances by Noraniza Idris and Ella, as well as a royal procession with decorated boats and floats.

Citra Warna Kuala Perlis will be held every year in conjunction with the birthday of the Raja of Perlis, and Perlis is the first state to consistently hold Citra Warna for three consecutive years.
