IDF arrests three Palestinian suspects related to attack on Jewish West Bank hikers

The Israeli military has arrested three Palestinian suspects believed to be involved in an attack on a group of Jewish hikers in the West Bank. The incident occurred Friday when the hikers entered a Palestinian village during an unapproved trek, prompting an assault where stones were thrown at them.

During the confrontation, several hikers sustained minor injuries. Tragically, an 18-year-old Palestinian was shot and killed by a security coordinator from a nearby settlement. Israeli soldiers later extracted the group of hikers from the village without sustaining any injuries themselves.

Reports indicate that following the attack on the hikers, Israeli settlers retaliated by setting fire to a home within the Palestinian village. According to Army Radio, a 65-year-old Palestinian was evacuated from the residence due to smoke inhalation. The village is reportedly situated a few hundred meters from an illegal Israeli settler outpost.

Authorities have stated that two additional suspects in the attack remain at large. The arrested individuals have been transferred to the Israel Police for further questioning regarding the incident.
