IGP promotes 25 personnel for exceptional performance in fight against crime

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has recognized the exceptional contributions of 25 police personnel by promoting them to higher ranks.

These officers demonstrated outstanding performance in crucial operations across the Bono East, Tema, and Western Central Police Regions. Their efforts led to the successful arrest of suspects involved in robberies and the interception of significant quantities of illicit drugs.

Notable among their achievements were the arrest of six suspects linked to a robbery where GH¢300,000 was stolen on the Kintampo-Buipe Highway, the apprehension of four individuals suspected of involvement in a violent robbery at Wassa Akropong, and the seizure of 866 parcels of suspected cocaine at Tema Harbour.

The promotions have been granted in recognition of the personnel’s dedication, professionalism, courage and commitment to the fight against crime.

The promoted officers include Chief Inspectors Bede Nwinbomeh and Joe Tetteh, who will receive automatic entry to the Police Academy, along with several General Sergeants, Corporals, Lance Corporals, and Constables. Six other personnel were also promoted for their general contributions to the fight against crime.

IGP Yohuno and the Police Management Board congratulated the officers, commending their dedication, professionalism, courage, and commitment. The IGP assured that the administration remains committed to acknowledging and rewarding hard work, encouraging the promoted personnel to continue their exemplary service.
