Illegal Bingo Operation Busted in Istanbul, Five Arrested

Istanbul police have shut down an illegal gambling den in the Küçükçekmece district, uncovering a range of illicit activities. The operation, conducted by the district's Public Order Branch, targeted a location in Tevfikbey Mahallesi where illegal bingo games were reportedly taking place.

During the raid, authorities found that the establishment was also serving alcohol openly and allowing the consumption of tobacco products indoors. Police seized one bingo machine, two televisions, four cameras, 2,000 bingo chips, and 175 bingo cards.

Five individuals, identified as B.K. (37), H.V. (35), H.Ç. (72), U.A. (49), and O.K. (38), were arrested for providing a venue for illegal gambling. Notably, the establishment had been previously sealed by authorities but had its seals broken to continue operations. Police re-sealed the venue after conducting searches and investigations.

In addition to the arrests, administrative action was taken against 25 other individuals found to be participating in illegal gambling at the premises. Legal proceedings against the five arrested suspects are ongoing.
