Incheon's '1,000 Won Delivery' Service Exceeds 2 Million Deliveries

Incheon City's innovative "1,000 Won Delivery" initiative has achieved a significant milestone, successfully delivering over 2 million packages in just eighteen months. This program, designed to support local small businesses and bolster the city's economy, has proven to be a resounding success.

Launched in October 2024 as the "Incheon Small Business Half-Price Delivery Support Project," the initiative initially offered a 1,000 won subsidy per delivery. In July 2025, the city expanded its support, increasing the subsidy to 1,500 won and rebranding the service as "1,000 Won Delivery." This adjustment has led to a remarkable 84% increase in average monthly deliveries, from 72,000 to 133,000, and more than doubled the number of participating businesses from 4,221 to 8,941.

The "1,000 Won Delivery" service operates on a unique shared logistics model, leveraging Incheon's subway lines 1 and 2. To facilitate efficient operations, Incheon has established collection centers at 60 subway stations across the city. This infrastructure not only enhances the accessibility of the delivery service but also creates employment opportunities, with 159 individuals, including those from senior employment programs, engaged in collection and sorting tasks. This initiative exemplifies Incheon's commitment to practical, citizen-focused policies, mirroring other successful projects like the "1,000 Won Housing" program.
