Independent Mining Union: 'Promises Unkept, We're Going to Ankara'

Workers at Elazığ Eti Gümüş have seen their protests reignited as a promised wage payment failed to materialize. The Bağımsız Maden-İş union had paused its action on July 18 after receiving a written commitment that outstanding payments would be made by August 6.

However, the union announced that this commitment was broken. "The promises made were not kept, we are coming," the union stated on social media, signaling a return to protest. They declared their intention to be in Ankara on Monday to escalate their demands.
